Positive Mental Attitude Hot Take | Ep. 10

"The Pinnacle Power: Unleashing the Force of Positive Mental Attitude"

The benefits of a positive mental attitude have been touted for self-development since the beginning. There is no question, it is important. It's also at the core of having a Growth Mindset. However, I also think it has been misunderstood. In fact, the line between what happens from the inside out - that is through our senses and actions versus what comes from outside of us, has been blurred. I call this space between clearly inside-out outcomes and external-source outcomes the Woo-Woo Gap.

My opinion is that the Woo-Woo Gap is much narrower than people think. I'll do a podcast on the topic in the near future. Clearly, there are times when even the most positive of attitudes won't change the outcome but there is so much going on with our neurons and the way the ones that fire together wire together, that is difficult to dispute the efficacy of maintaining a positive attitude at all times.

At the very base level, a positive attitude allows you to 'play loose' which is going to help with resourcefulness. At the middle level, a PMA can put your RAS on alert to see opportunities that would normally be hidden. At the highest level, a positive mental attitude can influence the people around you through the way mirror neurons experience the feelings of others. While I don't address this point in this podcast, I will in an upcoming episode. It takes a bit to unpack to stay with my objective of not excluding woo-woo-based claims.
